Sad Day Indeed

Just realized that my favorite protein smoothie is ridiculously high in calories.
Now, I will say that I get said smoothie WITHOUT the chocolate syrup. But still.

Just thinking about it makes me feel fat and disgusting. :(

Guess I'll be out running. Again. Already worked out with Evan doing legs this morning + 15(ish) minutes/half of my 5k training bit.

I just wanna be thin so badly! I keep telling myself I didn't get this way over night, I won't change overnight. But I'm so tired of always being so vigilant!

  1. So you slipped up and had a realization all at the same time. The next meal (or the next day) are a new start - a fresh slate. So make a better decision on the next food choice. Do you know how many people drink that smoothie every single day convincing themselves that it is actually healthy for them? I'm sure there are tons.

Keep arming yourself with good knowledge like this! If I am able to, I will actually pick out my meal before I go to the restaurant based on the nutritional information provided - then I know exactly what I'm getting and how many calories before I get tempted by the menu.

Give yourself one cheat meal/week (or one cheat item, maybe?) I had a couple of different ones. Booze only on Friday or Saturday. 2 drinks max. At dinner parties I could either have dessert or a drink - but not both. Those are just a few of the things I did during the journey.

It will all pay off in the end! And don't beat yourself up for a few slip ups along the way. :-)

  2. It isnt as bad as it could have been....

You could have been having chocolate cake instead :-) You cant dwell on mistakes. Use them to help you improve.

If you dont want to have to worry about being vigilant then you can go the boring route instead. :-) Find about a dozen things that you can have and only eat those.

Ultimately the more choices the more vigilant you will need to be since over half of those things wont be good for you.

Keep in mind that life is different depending on the stage you are in. Right now you are in the losing phase so it is going to suck. When you get to the maintain phase then it is nice b/c you get to treat yourself a heck of a lot more often!
